For the fourth consecutive year, Broadway Sydney has ranked No 1 in Australia winning the 2016 Shopping Centre News (SCN) Big Guns Award for ‘annual turnover per square metre (MAT/m2)’.This year, Broadway Sydney reached a healthy MAT/m2 figure of $13,798m2, surpassing the $13,000 mark for the first time in the Centre’s history. Broadway once again retained the number 1 spot with an astronomical increase of 12.7% in MAT to $524.6 million.Broadway has also boosted its Top 10 position for specialty MAT/m2 now to number 8, increasing by 13% to $12,974/m2.
This jump has demonstrated that aside from the Centre’s strong performing Majors and Mini Majors, the unceasing focus on tenant remixing is driving Broadway Sydney’s performance. New retailers include Hype D.C, Industrie, Bonds, Bailey Nelson, Soul Origin and the new Cotton on Kids concept store. Over 14 million visitors [MAT] were recorded in February.
