2010 Asia Shopping Centre Awards - Mirvac wins Marketing Award in ICSC
Throughout its history, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has recognized and honored the shopping centre industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends, as well as outstanding examples of design and development throughout the world through its Global Awards programs.
As part of the shopping centre industry’s premier awards competition, ICSC is pleased to announce that Mirvac, Sydney, Australia, was selected as a Silver Award winner in the 2010 Asia Shopping Centre Awards competition. The 2010 ICSC Asia Shopping Centre Awards recognize outstanding achievement in marketing and design and development of retail properties through Asia.
Mirvac received its silver award in the new media category, which recognizes strategic programs and plans that target websites, on-line branding campaigns, social media, and/or mobile marketing, to achieve brand and marketing goals for its program, “NeighbourhoodNet.”
Professional recognition for this award was given to Setareh Ferdousian, National Retail Projects and Online Manager.
Congratulations also to Fran Bickmore (Marketing Manager at Greenwood Plaza) and Tanya Coert (Marketing Manager at Cherrybrook Village) for their nominations.
Nothing Rocky About the PCA Retail Awards
In a gala event, held last week, the Property Council of Australia's Queensland division announced the winners of the annual Retail Property Awards.
City Centre Plaza, Rockhampton were the winners of the Excellence in Presentation award for Sub Regional Centres between 10,000 to 30,000 square metres - a very hotly contested category.
Excellence in Presentation is based on 40 items, with judges travelling to each Centre for formal inspections. Speaking to some of the judges after the event, they were very quick to point out just how impressed they were with City Centre Plaza and how well presented the Centre was.
Congratulations to Renee Pukallus and her team of Phillip Moffat and Rebecca Medley. City Centre Plaza, Rockhampton were also finalists in the sustainability and marketing awards categories.
Hinkler Central in Bundaberg was also recognised with Elysia Billingham being awarded a special commendation for Excellence in Marketing for Sub Regional Centres 10,000 to 30,000 square metres, again a category with a large number of entries and finalists.
Hinkler's 'Happy Hour' campaign was an aggressive promotion aimed at improving the sales for the Fresh Food specialty retailers and a struggling Coles supermarket on Thursday nights - a traditionally weak time for food sales at Hinkler Central. Congratulations to the whole team at Hinkler Central.
The first line of the MAM Retail Vision is, "retailers and our peers view us as skilled and expert shopping centre operators". Our entry (and wins) in these types of awards, judged by our peers, is integral to our goal of continuing to contribute to Mirvac's success though our professionalism in the Retail environment.
