    Mirvac Group ("Mirvac") [ASX: MGR] is pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement to acquire Birkenhead Point Shopping Centre, Drummoyne (“Birkenhead Point”), Sydney, including an adjoining car parking facility and marina1, for a total consideration of $310.0 million.

    Construction works have commenced on the next stage of expansion of Orion Springfield Central shopping centre, with a sod-turning ceremony held onsite on 3 April 2014 to officially commemorate start of works. The ceremony was officiated by Mirvac’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz and Ipswich Mayor, Councillor Paul Pisasale.

    Broadway Shopping Centre has retained its number one spot for shopping centre performance in Australia. At Shopping Centre News’ Annual Awards, held in Sydney on 18 March, Broadway won the award of leader in the sales performance category (measured by Moving Annual Turnover*) for the second year running.

    Mirvac recently completed the settlement on the acquisition of Harbourside Shopping Centre in Darling Harbour in Sydney. Harbourside is a key acquisition for the Group, in line with strategy to unlock embedded value by leveraging Mirvac Retail’s integrated asset and investment management and development capability.
